The Italian premier, Giorgia Meloni, is set to sell a reported 270 items bestowed upon her by world leaders during her travels. This unusual assortment could include items such as a miniature chainsaw-holding statuette of Argentina's leader Javier Milei and a pair of blue python skin shoes with gilded heels.
The collection, together, are valued at around €800,000. The plan is to sold to the highest bidder by a Italian auction firm. The specific date has not been finalized, although the intention is to conduct the sale by year's end, with the proceeds going to various charities.
Storage Room Holdings
The presents are said to be kept in a storage room on the third floor of Palazzo Chigi. Reports indicate that Meloni additionally considering auction off gifts given to her predecessors that have been gathering dust over a long period.
A complete inventory is yet to be made public, but a glimpse was gleaned earlier this year when a detailed register of items received was presented in parliament. The question raised if a rule restricting expensive presents was being followed. By law, a prime minister is not permitted to keep presents exceeding €300.

"Perhaps the oddest gifts were the Milei figurine and the blue python skin shoes," reports suggest.
